Amazon Inventory
Amazon Inventory Management
Keep Amazon available quantity on the same inventory record as warehouses, stores, and other marketplaces, and keep the seller-fulfilled channel separate from the quantity Amazon manages for FBA.

Amazon Inventory Management is best for
- Sellers listing the same SKU on Amazon and another channel
- Teams with warehouse or multi-location stock
- Operators still updating Amazon quantity by hand
What Amazon inventory management does in 1CA
Amazon shows a listing quantity. 1CA owns available-to-sell, location, and reservation. Those are different jobs.
One available-to-sell
Amazon quantity should follow inventory availability, not a copy that drifts after the first sale.
Multi-location stock
Warehouse, store, and in-transit status stay in inventory even when the sale happened on Amazon.
Reservation on order
An imported Amazon order can reserve stock so other listings cannot sell the last unit twice.
Returns restock
An RMA that is fit to sell can return quantity to the same record Amazon reads.
Replenishment signal
Demand planning and purchasing use channel demand, including Amazon, without a separate stock file.
How Amazon quantity actually behaves
Amazon does not treat a quantity write as a stock level you own. Understanding where the number lives is the difference between a sync that holds and one that drifts.
fulfillment_availability, not a stock field
Seller-fulfilled quantity is an attribute on the listing, patched through the Listings Items API rather than written to a dedicated inventory endpoint.
Submitted value vs live value
The attributes block echoes the last quantity you sent. The live sellable count is reported separately and the two diverge the moment a unit sells, so the echo is not a reconciliation source.
FBA is not yours to write
A fulfillment channel code separates seller-fulfilled quantity from FBA, where Amazon holds the units and owns the number. Only the seller-fulfilled side should follow your warehouse on-hand.
Real-time call or batch feed
Single updates go through the Listings Items API; bulk changes go through a JSON listings feed that processes asynchronously, so a large push is not instant.
Product type definitions govern the write
Which attributes are accepted depends on the product type definition for that listing, so the same payload is not valid across every catalog category.
One record behind both
1CA holds available-to-sell, location, and reservations; the Amazon listing reflects that availability instead of carrying a second count.
Channel-only inventory vs 1CA Amazon Inventory
A capability comparison, not a competitor list. This is how 1CA handles Amazon operations versus disconnected channel tools.
Channel-only inventory
- Amazon quantity maintained apart from warehouse on-hand
- A website or marketplace sale does not reserve the channel unit
- Returns restocked in one system and forgotten on the channel
- Quantity re-read from the listing attribute, which only echoes the last value sent
1CA Amazon Inventory
- Amazon available quantity follows the 1CA inventory record
- An imported order can reserve stock across channels
- RMA restock returns quantity to the same record the channel reads
- Warehouse on-hand drives the seller-fulfilled quantity; FBA is left to Amazon
